ASU To Host Alumni Day
Former Jaguar standouts to be recognized Saturday during PBC doubleheader

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State will honor past men’s and women’s basketball standouts during the Jaguars’ doubleheader Saturday afternoon against Peach Belt Conference foe USC Upstate in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

The ASU men’s and women’s basketball programs will host Alumni Day, welcoming back nearly 50 former Jaguar and Lady Jaguar players. At the conclusion of the men’s contest, a women’s alumni game will tip off with the men’s alumni game to follow.

Former Jaguar student-athletes who are expected to compete include: Derek Stewart and Keenan Mann, the top two scorers in school history, as well as Brian Schmall, Rob Harris, David Butler, Jermaine Henegan, Oliver Ottley, Karim Telfer, Jason Mills, Kevin Rish, Kevin Mitchell, Adam Miller, Lamont Johnson, John Walker, Keith Harrison, Jermale Wilkerson, Reggie Rosier, Ben Butler, Mike Mills, Chad Cook and Jeff Frazier.

Former Lady Jaguars who are expected to attend include: Lawanna “Kita” Monday, the all-time leading scorer in school history, Donna Hanson Baker, Catherine Balducci, Tameika Bridges, Paris Brooklyn, Debi Moreau Chatfield, Angie Coursey, Krystal Edwards, Amy Frantz, Zakeya Goldsberry, Aimee Haygood, Alshaa’ Hodges, Andrea McCurry, Shundra Johnson, Faith Nixon, Christina Pedarre’, Latoya Renwrick, Julie Robbins, Claire Servy, Arijana “Boz” Sijercic and Angie Coursey Spencer.

Lowell Barnhart and Marvin Vanover, the winningest men’s and women’s coaches in school history, will be on hand as well as former men’s coach Clint Bryant, who is currently serving his 19th year as Director of Athletics at ASU.

The ASU-USC Upstate women’s matchup is scheduled to tip off at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, with the Jaguars-Spartans men’s contest to follow at 4:00 p.m.
