AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State men’s basketball junior forward Tyrekus “AJ” Bowman, the Jaguars’ leading scorer and the leading scorer in the Peach Belt Conference, is featured in this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated in “Faces In The Crowd”.

Bowman posted his fourth double-double of the season and his second straight with 15 points and 11 rebounds in ASU’s 79-63 Peach Belt Conference victory at Francis Marion Saturday afternoon, January 27, in Florence, S.C. He has scored in double figures in 18 of ASU’s 19 games this season.

Bowman has helped lead ASU to a 16-3 overall record and 8-0 mark in the PBC, giving the Jags the second-best start in school history. Only the 1969-70 edition of the Jags had a better record through 19 games, posting an 18-1 record under former head coach and current PBC commissioner Marvin Vanover.

Bowman is the second Jaguar to be featured in SI’s “Faces In The Crowd”, joining former men’s golf three-time All-American Oliver Wilson, who appeared in SI in the spring of 2003
