Former Jaguar Signs Pro Deal
Karim Telfer begins professional career overseas

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Former Augusta State standout Karim Telfer has signed a professional contract with C.S. Otopeni in the First Division League in Romania.

“This is a great tribute to Karim and speaks volumes about his work ethic and persistence in making his dream come true,” ASU head coach Dip Metress said. “He’s a self-made player and all the time in the gym working on his game has paid off with this great opportunity.”

A two-year starter for the Jaguars in 2004-05 and 2005-06, Telfer scored 707 points in 58 career games, an average of 12.2 ppg. He hit 96 three pointers and shot 38.9 percent from three-point range while dishing out 288 assists, an average of 5.0 per game. He helped lead ASU to a 34-24 record during his two seasons.
