Jags Remain Atop Region Poll
ASU travels to Clayton State on Saturday for key PBC matchup

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State is ranked first in the second South Atlantic Region poll of the 2007-08 regular season, released Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA.

The Jaguars and USC Aiken make up the Peach Belt Conference representation in the poll. Georgia College & State and Armstrong Atlantic State both fell out of the top 10 after suffering losses last week.

The top eight teams in the final South Atlantic Regional poll of the regular season will earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

The Jags currently sit at 16-4 overall and 11-2 in the Peach Belt Conference after Wednesday’s 77-49 victory over UNC Pembroke in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

ASU travels to Morrow, Ga., to square off with Clayton State in a key PBC matchup on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
