Jaguars Hold Steady Inside Top 10
ASU closes out regular-season road slate on Wednesday

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State remained No. 8 in the latest NABC/Division II Coaches Poll, released late Tuesday afternoon from the NABC national headquarters in Kansas City, Mo.

The Jaguars, currently in the midst of an eight-game winning streak, jumped four spots from No. 12 to No. 8 in the nation in last week’s poll. This week’s ranking marks the 13th consecutive week this season in which the Jags have appeared in the national poll. They are one of two Peach Belt Conference teams to appear in the poll, with USC Aiken just ahead of the Jags at No. 5.

ASU began the season ranked sixth before moving as high as No. 5. After spending two weeks at No. 14, the Jags improved to No. 12 in the last national poll prior to the holidays. ASU dropped to No. 22 after a loss at Tampa, moved back inside the top 20 to 18th and improved to 13th and then jumped up to 10th a month ago. The Jags fell to No. 16 three weeks ago before moving back up to No. 12 and then to No. 8 last week.

ASU wraps up its regular-season road schedule in Columbus, Ga., on Wednesday, Feb. 27 against the Columbus State Cougars at 7:30 p.m. in the Lumpkin Center.
