Augusta State carded a two-under 282 Thursday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Southeast
Regional at Red Tail Golf Club.
The 38th-ranked Jaguars are tied for seventh place in the 14-team field with Georgia and Georgia State. ASU will be paired
with the Bulldogs and Panthers for Friday’s second round.
ASU is a single stroke out of sixth place and five shots back of fifth-place Florida State. Regional host Central Florida owns
the lead after opening with a 16-under 268. No. 36 Arizona posted a 14-under 270 and is second, followed by South
Carolina and Charlotte in a tie for third at 11-under 273.
The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams at the end of the 54-hole, three-day regional will advance to
the NCAA Championships, slated for May 26-30 at historic Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio and hosted by the University of
Toledo.
Sophomore Henrik Norlander paced the Jags with a two-under 69 and is tied for 14th. Senior Janne Kaske and sophomore
Carter Newman and freshman Taylor Floyd posted rounds of even-par 71 and are tied for 30th. Junior Jake Amos booked a
one-over 72 and is tied for 45th.
Amos will lead off for ASU at 10:10 a.m., followed by Floyd at 10:20, Newman at 10:30, Kaske at 10:40 and Norlander at
10:50.
