Jags No. 2 In Golfweek Poll
ASU Men's Golf earns highest preseason ranking ever

AUGUSTA, Ga.-- The Augusta State men's golf team has been ranked No. 2 in the nation in the Golfweek magazine preseason poll. The preseason ranking is the highest ever in the history of the Jaguar men's golf program, and the second top-five ranking for the Jags this preseason.

The defending national champion Jaguars, who return all five starters from their victory at the NCAA Championships at The Honors Course in June, were recently tabbed No. 3 in the Golf World magazine/Coaches preseason poll.

ASU ranks behind only Oklahoma State, the national runnerup to the Jags in 2010. The Cowboys return four starters from a year ago, including U.S. Amateur Champion Peter Uihlein. Georgia, UCLA and Stanford round out the top five.

Oregon, Alabama, Texas A&M, Arizona State and Florida rank No. 6 to No. 10.
