AUGUSTA,

Former Augusta State All-Americans Emmett Turner and Major Manning successfully advanced
through the second stage of the PGA Tour’s Qualifying Tournament Saturday.
Turner posted a wire-to-wire victory in the Kingwood, Texas qualifying site at Deerwood Golf Club. He fired rounds
of 68-67-67-71 for a 15-under 273 total and two-shot victory over former PGA Tour winners Neal Lancaster and
Omar Uresti.
Manning fired a 6-under 66 Saturday in Brooksville, Fla., to move up into a tie for third at Southern Hills Plantation
Club. He carded a 72-hole total of 15-under 273, which included three straight 3-under 69’s over his first three

Former Jaguar Jay Haas, Jr., didn’t fare as well, finishing in a tie for 65th at 4-over 292 (73-72-73-74) at
Southern Hills.
Turner was a two-time All-American for ASU in 2003 and 2005, while Manning earned national honors in 2005 and

season.
The final stage of “Q School”, a six-round, 108-hole tournament, is set for Dec. 2-7 at Bear Lakes Country Club in
West Palm Beach, Fla.
