S.C.-- Taylor Floyd paced Augusta State’s five-man contingent during Friday’s third round of the Palmetto Amateur at Palmetto Golf Club.
Floyd carded a 1-under 69 and Mitch Krywulycz posted his second straight, even-par 70 to move up into a tie for 12th place at 3-over 213, five shots off the lead.
Carter Newman signed for a 2-over 72 and is 22nd, while Floyd is 38th. Shawn Yim registered a 73 and made the 54-hole cut with two shots to spare at 15-over 225. Jaguar head coach Josh Gregory turned in his best round of the tourney with a 3-over 75 but missed the cut by a shot.
Georgia Southern assistant coach Carter Collins and Marc-Ettienne Bussieres are tied for the lead at 2-over 212, one stroke ahead of Tim Jackson.
A total of 66 players made the cut, which fell at 17-over 227.

ON TOUR … Jaguars Henrik Norlander and Patrick Reed teed it up in the pro ranks for the second day in a row on Friday in Sweden and Ohio, respectively … Reed shot a 1-over 72 for the second straight day in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational on the Nationwide Tour and missed the cut by one shot … Norlander carded a 1-over 73 in the second round of the European Tour’s Nordea Scandinavian Masters in Stockholm, Sweden … Norlander finished two rounds at 4-over 148 (75-73) at Bro Hof Slott Golf Club and missed the cut by three strokes … Former Jaguars Jamie Elson and Gary Murphy registered a 77 and 77, respectively, and also were victims of the cut, which fell at 1-over 145.
