The Augusta State men’s golf team finished in 11th place Sunday in the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club.
Sophomore Mitch Krywulycz and freshman Henrik Norlander paced the Jaguars with a tie for 28th. Redshirt freshman Olle Bengtsson finished tied for 51st while sophomore Jake Amos was 60th and junior Janne Kaske was 77th. Norlander carded ASU’s best round of the day, a one-over 73, to finish at three-over 219 along with Krywulycz.
Alabama captured the tournament title with a final-round, four-under 284 to post a seven-shot win over runnerup Florida. South Carolina and Tennessee were third and fourth, respectively, while host Georgia Southern and UAB tied for fifth.
South Carolina’s George Bryan IV shot a three-under 69 to take medalist honors by a single stroke over the Crimson Tide’s Michael Thompson, who finished at seven-under 209. Southern’s Logan Blondell was third at six-under 210, followed by ‘Bama’s Matthew Swan and Florida’s Billy Horschel at five-under 211.
The Jaguars head to the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate Sunday, March 23 through Tuesday, March 25 at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C., just outside of Charleston.
