AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State Jaguars fell to the USC Upstate Spartans in a Peach Belt Conference match, Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Newman Tennis Center in Augusta, Ga. The score for the men was 8-1 and the women were defeated 9-0.

ASU’s Victor Meza defeated Upstate’s Sebastian Gonzales-Orbegoso 6-7, 6-4 (10-6), the only win for the Jags in singles play. ASU was 1-5 in the singles contests and 0-3 in the doubles, making them 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in the PBC.

With the loss, the Lady Jags are now 1-1 in the PBC and 4-2 on the year.

ASU will be back in action on Monday, Feb. 26, traveling to Savannah, Ga. to face Armstrong Atlantic State in a PBC matchup. The contests will begin at 1:00 p.m.
