PEMBROKE, N.C. -- The Augusta State Lady Jaguars (5-3, 2-2) swept the UNC Pembroke Lady Braves (4-4, 0-4) in a Peach Belt Conference matchup Tuesday afternoon at the UNCP Varsity Tennis Courts.

ASU’s Nathalia Rodrigues and Laura Ferreria in the top seed in doubles play posted an 8-5 decision over Stacey Wood and Ivana Music’ of UNCP. The Lady Jags would up their match advantage to 2-0 with Norma Rovira and Fernanda Chiaparini’s 8-4 triumph over Natalie Dies and Gabriela Vrana at No. 2 doubles.

For the Lady Braves Wood dropped a 6-1 and 6-2 match to Rodriguez at No. 1 singles, Dies fell to Chiaparini 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Sarah Jegat of ASU defeated Music’ in the No. 3 singles match 6-0 and 6-1.

ASU will be back to action on tomorrow, Feb. 28 traveling to Florence, S.C. to face Francis Marion in a PBC matchup, they begin at 2:00 p.m.
