AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Lady Jaguars fell to USC Upstate, 5-0 in the second round of the Peach Belt tournament, Friday at the Newman Tennis Center.

Augusta State falls to 15-8 overall on the season, while the Lady Spartans improve to 18-4.

USC Upstate swept the doubles competition and went on to win two singles matches to complete the sweep. The remaining singles matches were not finished. ASU's Nathalia Rodrigues fell to Anna Nova 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles, while Laura Ferreira dropped her No. 2 singles match, 6-0, 6-2 to Susana Hernandez.

Earlier in the day, ASU defeated UNC Pembroke, 5-1. They won two of three in doubles action, before taking three straight-set singles matches for the win.

The Lady Jaguars are back in action Saturday, April 21 as they take on Francis Marion in the tournament. Match time is set for 8 a.m. USC Upstate advances to face Columbus State at 11 a.m.
