ASU Falls In PBC Tournament
Francis Marion defeats Lady Jaguars, 5-2

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State's women's tennis team fell to Francis Marion, 5-2 in day two of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament, Saturday at Newman Tennis Center.

With the loss, the Lady Jaguars end their season with a 15-9 record, while the Lady Patriots improve to 14-7.

Francis Marion swept the doubles competition and took two of four singles matches en route to the win. Augusta State picked up singles victories from Fernanda Chiaparini, who defeated Jenny Ludwig, 6-1, 6-1 and Norma Rovira, who won her No. 5 singles match over Elizabeth Lee, 6-2, 6-2. The remaining two singles matches were not completed.

Francis Marion advances to face the winner of the GCSU-USC Aiken matchup at 2 p.m.
