AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State Jaguars defeated the Mount Olive Trojans, 8-1 (men) and 9-0 (women), on Monday afternoon at the Newman Tennis Center in Augusta Ga.

The Lady Jags swept the Lady Trojans in singles and doubles play, 9-0. In the third seed for ASU in doubles, the team of Sarah Jegat and Luiza Pires won by default. Laura Ferreira also won by default in singles action. The Lady Jags are currently 4-1 for the season.

In doubles play for the men, the Jags swept the Trojans, 3-0. In singles action, ASU’s top seed Lindy Blount defeated Guilherme Serra, 6-7(0), 6-1, 10-6, making the Jags 3-0 on the season.

The Jags were to travel to Savannah, Ga. today to compete against Armstrong Atlantic State, but due to the weather it was rescheduled. ASU’s men’s tennis will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 15, in Atlanta, Ga. against Morehouse. The matchup will start at 1:00 p.m.
