AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State tennis teams swept the Newberry Indians in non-conference play Monday afternoon.

The ASU women's team won five of six singles matches and swept the doubles to defeat Newberry, 8-1. The Lady Jags improve to 5-1 overall, while Newberry falls to 0-3.

On the men's side, the Jaguars swept the singles and went two for three in doubles. ASU improves to 6-2 overall, while Newberry drops to 1-2.

The Jags will return to action Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Erskine for their rescheduled match from Feb. 21. Matches set to start at 2 p.m.
