COLUMBUS, Ga. -- The Augusta State Tennis team fell to Columbus State Monday afternoon at the Blackmon Tennis Center. The Ladies fell 7-2 to the Cougars and the Men dropped 5-4.

In the women's match, Laura Ferreira and Fernanda Chiaparini picked up the only wins for ASU in singles play. Ferreira downed Gabriela Vasilescu 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, while Chiaparini won 6-2, 6-2 against Roxana Dondera. For doubles, ASU fell 0-3 to CSU.

On the men's side, the teams of Igor Vasconcellos and Frederico Mendes and Sergi Mullor and Arthur Figueiro tallied wins for ASU to take CSU 2-1 in doubles. Sergi Mullor and Arthur Figueiro picked up victories in singles play.

The men fell to 7-3 overall and 0-3 in the PBC. The women dropped to 8-2 overall and 1-2 in league play.
