AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta State men’s and women’s tennis teams recently were ranked in the Southeast Regional rankings. The women’s team also moved into the top 30 in the national rankings.

Under the watch of head coach Michael McGrath, the ASU men’s squad is No. 9 in the Southeast Regional rankings while the Lady Jaguars moved to No. 5 in the region polls. The ASU women’s squad also earned a No. 22 ITA national ranking.

ASU sophomore Henrique Boturao was rated No. 14 and sophomore Bernardo Fernandes was ranked No. 15 in the Southeast Regional individual men’s rankings. The team of Boturao and Fernandes was also ranked No. 5 in the region and No. 21 in the nation in doubles ranking.

ASU opens its 2010 schedule on Monday, Feb. 1, when the Jags and Lady Jags host Lees McRae in a pair of non-conference matches at Newman Tennis Center.
