ASU Falls In NCAA Regional
No. 25 Lady Jaguars eliminated by 11th-ranked Columbus State

MORROW, Ga. – Columbus State advanced to the second round of the 2010 NCAA Southeast Regional Friday afternoon with a 5-0 victory over Augusta State at the Laker Courts.

Columbus State, ranked No. 11 in the nation, improved to 20-5 overall with the win and advanced to Saturday’s second round match. The Lady Cougars will take on the winner of Clayton State and Georgia College and State’s first-round match.

The match was the final appearance for ASU senior Luiza Pires.

Under head coach Michael McGrath, the 25th-ranked Lady Jags were making their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 11 seasons.

The loss capped ASU’s season at 13-10 overall.
