Augusta State downed Davis & Elkins 8-0 in game one and
2-0 in game two, on Sunday afternoon at Jaguar Field.
In game one, senior pitcher Amy Dumas pitched a perfect game, the first of her career.
The Jags earned their first run in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI from Amy Hunt. In the second inning, ASU plated four runs, with RBI from Hunt and Jessie Sadlowsky.
The Jags booked three more runs with RBI from Anna Tedder, Ashley Roberts and another from Hunt to take the game 8-0 in five innings over the Senators.
For the Jags, Hunt, Leann Barber and Ashley Pingree all had multiple hits.
Dumas (8-4) earned the win with 12 strikeouts. Davis & Elkins' Leanne Parliman received the loss.
In game two, ASU plated a run in the first by Tedder, and again in the second with a home run from Barber. The Senators tallied two hits from Amanda Helmstetter and Parliman but that was not enough to get past the Jags.
Jacklyn Benenhaley earned the win for ASU allowing two hits with four strikeouts. The Senators' Britne Bacca received the loss.
The Jags return to action Wednesday, Mar. 19 when they face Georgia Southwestern in a Peach Belt Conference matchup. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
