| ASU ends season with 8-1 loss to Columbus State |

FLORENCE,
S.C. -
Augusta State took on Columbus State in game nine of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament held at
Francis Marion University. The Jags dropped to the Cougars 8-1 ending their season at 28-19.
The Columbus State Cougars picked up their first run in the second inning with a homerun from Brittany Leverett. The Cougars tallied two more in the third inning with runs from Amanda Wheeless and Cassie Cooper to put Columbus State up by three.
ASU got on the board in the fourth inning when Amber Hunt blasted a homerun, taking the score to 3-1 Cougars.
The Cougars added two more in the fifth inning when Leverett booked another homerun, driving in Carrie Jones.
Columbus State wrapped up the game plating three more runs in the sixth inning from Christie Thompson, Cassie Cooper and Jones.
For the Jags, Hunt went 2-for-3 scoring the only run for the Jags. For Columbus State, Leverett went 4-for-4 at the plate with two runs and six RBI.
Jennifer Isasi earned the win for the Cougars allowing only five hits. The Jags' Jacklyn Benenhaley received the loss with relief from Kimberly Kennedy and Amy Dumas.
