Jags Continue To Improve Under Glass
2007 ASU Volleyball posts best record since 2000

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State volleyball program continued to make progress in 2007, in its third season under the guidance of Head Coach Amber Glass.

 

The Jaguars finished 17-19 on the season, recording the most wins since 2000 when they went 19-18. The 17 victories also marked the most wins under Glass. (MORE)

Named to All-Conference and All-Tournament teams

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State’s Jessica Howard was named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference team at the PBC volleyball awards banquet on the eve of the conference tournament in Greenwood, S.C.

 

Howard was also named to the PBC All-Tournament team following the conclusion of the final match.

 

Howard, a middle blocker, led the Jaguars in hitting percentage, kills and blocks. Howard booked 11 matches with 15 plus kills, and averaged a .277 hitting percentage for the season. She tallied 80 block solos and 53 block assists averaging 1.03 blocks per game.  (MORE)

 

Jags Split In PBC Tournament
Augusta State falls to Lander in semifinals, 3-0

GREENWOOD, S.C. -- Augusta State split a pair of matches in the Peach Belt Conference Championships Nov. 10. This is the furthest the Jaguars have gone in a PBC Championship since Nov. 14, 2003 when they lost to the University of North Florida in the semifinals, 3-0.

 

The Jaguars became the first team with the lowest seed in the tournament to win a game when they beat Armstrong Atlantic State, 3-2 in the quarterfinals. Armstrong Atlantic was ousted from the first round of the PBC Tournament for the first time since 1998. (MORE)
