Jags Gear Up For PBC Tournament
ASU volleyball heads to Lander for Peach Belt Conference Championships

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State enters the 2007 Peach Belt Conference tournament in Greenwood, S.C. as the #6 seed. The Jaguars finished out the regular season 16-18 and 2-4 in Peach Belt Conference play. The 16 wins are the most since 1999 and the most under head coach Amber Glass.

The Jags will face third-seeded Armstrong Atlantic State (16-19, 5-5) in a quarterfinal match, Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Lander's Horne Arena. The Jags and Pirates split their two contests this season at each other’s home court. ASU won the first meeting with the Pirates, 3-0, while Armstrong took the second meeting 3-2.

The other quarterfinal matchup pits No. 4 Francis Marion (13-20, 4-6) against No. 5 UNC Pembroke (19-16, 3-7) at 1 p.m. Lander will play the Armstrong Atlantic/ASU winner at 5 p.m., followed by USC Aiken vs. the FMU/UNCP winner at 7 p.m.

The championship match will take place Sunday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.
