SAVANNAH,
Ga. - Augusta State earned a split Saturday in the second and final day of the Peach Belt
Conference/Conference Carolinas crossover tournament in Savannah, Ga. The Jaguars (19-10) fell 3-1 to Pfeiffer, and then defeated St. Andrews 3-0.
In game one against Pfeiffer, senior Jessica Howard paced the Jags with 22 kills and four block solos. Freshman Mandy Irizarry tallied 11 kills, while sophomore Lagi Roberts added six kills and four blocks total. Senior Lindsey Weider booked 31 digs and junior Dianna Meyer had 18 digs. Sophomore setter Ashley Zappitell posted 42 assists.
In game two against St. Andrews, Howard led the team with 11 kills, five aces, and seven total blocks. Also aiding in the win was Weider, who notched 20 digs. Roberts tallied 17 digs and Meyer added 10 digs. Zappitell netted 28 assists.
The Jags return to play Wednesday, Oct. 28 when they travel to Greenwood, S.C., to take on Lander for a Peach Belt Conference matchup at 7:00 p.m.
