AUGUSTA,
Ga. - Augusta State head volleyball coach Sharon Bonaventure announced Thursday her second signee of the spring recruiting period.
Mary Beth Ingram, a setter from Chiles High School in Tallahassee, Fla., has signed a national letter-of-intent to join the Jaguar Volleyball program beginning with the Fall, 2010 semester.
A three-year starter at Chiles High, Ingram has been a member of the North Florida Volleyball Academy and Tallahassee Juniors club teams for six years.
Ingram served as team captain for both her high school and club teams and was named Outstanding Offensive Player. She earned academic recognition from the FHSAA (Florida High School Athletic Association) and received first-team, All Big Bend honors.
“We’re looking forward to having Mary Beth sport the Blue and White next season,” Bonaventure said. “She will definitely add some quality depth to our squad at setter and give us a lot of flexibility at that position. She’s the type of player who will challenge for immediate playing time and make us a better team.”
The Jaguars return four starters and eight letterwinners from their 2009 squad that racked up 22 victories -- the second-most in school history -- and recorded the second-best turnaround in one season in school history.
