AUGUSTA,
Ga. – Augusta State women’s basketball head coach Tes Sobomehin announced Friday the addition of her sixth recruit to the Lady Jaguar recruiting class.
Breanna Harris, a 5-7 guard from Hardaway High School in Columbus, Ga., was a second-team, All-Bi-City selection. She was named both an All-Bi-City All Star Classic team member and a Herb Greene All Star Classic team member.
Harris was part of a Lady Hawks squad that posted a school-record 85-35 mark during her prep career. She helped lead HHS to the Class AAAA State Tournament in all four seasons, including a pair of trips to the Final Four in 2007 and 2009.
During her career, she tallied 958 points, 307 assists and 204 rebounds. As a senior, she scored 389 points and handed out 125 assists.
“Breanna is a great young player and student out of a pool of talented seniors in the Columbus area,” Sobomehin said. “She will develop at the point guard position and shooting guard position in her first year. We are excited to add Breanna to our Lady Jag family!”
The Lady Jags return four starters and seven letterwinners from the 2008-09 squad, including all-conference performer Jasmine Godwin.
