Lady Jags Add To Incoming Class
California junior college guard to bolster ASU backcourt

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State women’s basketball head coach Tes Sobomehin announced the 10th and final addition to the Lady Jaguar recruiting class on Friday.

Blaire Egardo, a 5-6 junior guard from West Covina, Calif., averaged 10 points and three rebounds during her junior-college career at Mt. San Antonio Community College in Walnut, Calif.

Egardo connected on 114 3-pointers during her junior-college career and helped lead the Mounties to a 37-1 record and a state championship in 2007-08. During the 2007-08 season, she led the team with 82 treys and she was a two-time All-South Coast Conference selection.

“We are very excited to announce Blaire’s addition,” Sobomehin said. “Blaire is a proven talent at the shooting guard position and comes from successful programs at both the high school and junior-college level. We will look to her to her for scoring and extending our defensive attack this season.”

As a senior at Covina High School, Egardo averaged nearly 20 ppg., and 3.5 spg., while being named Valle Vista Conference MVP. She tallied a career high of 40 points with nine 3-pointers.

The Lady Jags return two starters and four letterwinners from the 2008-09 squad.
