|GCSU Edges Lady Jags In Overtime|

Ga. – Augusta State rallied in the second-half on Thursday night to force overtime before falling 56-52 to Georgia College & State in Peach Belt Conference action at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
With the win, GCSU improved to 16-6 on the season and 9-3 in the conference, while the loss dropped the Lady Jags to 1-22 overall and 0-14 in the league.
Junior Blaire Egardo paced the Lady Jags with a team-high 15 points, while senior Eboni Davis tallied 14 points and had three assists. Freshman Waneta Carlisle snagged nine rebounds and added seven points and freshman Ashley Brown booked five rebounds and netted six points.
GCSU senior Antoinette Reames led the team booking a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks. The triple-double was the first ever in GCSU history and only the third triple-double in Peach Belt Conference history. Chimere Jorday booked a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Dominique Huffin added 13 points off the bench.
The Lady Jags were down by two with six seconds left in the second half, but a layup from Carlisle would send the game into overtime.
The Lady Bobcats outscored ASU 28-16 in the paint and shot 50.0 percent from the free-throw line, but connected on only 6-of-21 3-point attempts (28.6 percent).
Augusta State, who led the last 6:49 of the first-half, forced 18 GCSU turnovers and shot 44.4 percent from the free-throw line, but shot only 28.4 percent from the field.
Augusta State is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 6, when they travel to Greenwood, S.C., to take on Lander in a Peach Belt Conference matchup at 1:30 p.m. (Box Score)
