BIRMINGHAM,
Ala. – Augusta State’s Eboni Davis and Blaire Egardo posted 16 points each as the Lady Jaguars
earned their first victory of the season with an 84-70 road win over Miles Tuesday night.
With the win, ASU improved to 1-3 on the season and snapped a 14-game losing streak, dating back to last season.
The loss dropped Miles to 1-1.
Senior Kirsten Stallings and sophomore Asha Gwynn booked 11 and 10 points, respectively, while Gwynn pulled
down a game-high nine rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench. Davis handed out six assists.
Leading 36-33 at the half, the Lady Jags shot 53 percent in the second half and outscored Miles 48-37. For the
third time in four games, ASU won the rebounding battle with a 51-35 advantage.
Davis and Egardo drained four 3-pointers each as ASU limited Miles to just 2-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc.
In a contest that featured nine ties and 13 lead changes, the Lady Jags rattled off a 16-3 spurt over a span of 3:30
midway through the second half to take a double-digit lead. They led by as much as 17 in the game’s last two
minutes.
ASU returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 1, traveling to Anderson, S.C, to take on the Lady Trojans at 7:00 p.m.
