The Augusta State Women’s Golf Team sponsored their annual Junior Golf Clinic in conjunction with the hosting of the America’s Choice Mortgage Lady Jaguar Invitational. For the second year the clinic was sponsored by Howard J. Williams III, M.D. DABPM of Georgia Pain Specialists and Augusta Coca Cola, First Tee of Augusta and new to the clinic McDonald’s Restaurant.

A record attendance of 51 participants ranging in age of 4 to 16 had a great learning experience with the Augusta State Women’s Golf Team and Coach Laura Coble and the Georgia State Women’s Golf Team and Coach Cathy Mant teaching the basic skills of golf. A rotation of chipping, putting, and the full swing was used to introduce the participants to golf and enhance the skills of the participants who were more advanced.

The Junior Clinic was held at the Augusta State Golf Practice Facility. During registration, the participants enjoyed a snack from McDonald’s of chicken and fruit. The First Tee volunteers had homemade cookies for the participants and Coca Cola provided Powerade and Dasani water. Each participant received a Junior Clinic T-shirt and an Augusta State University golf hat. Several CSRA Girl Scout Troops attended the clinic.

The players from Augusta State and Georgia State shared their expertise with the younger golfers in a positive and knowledgeable manner. FUN was had by all, as well as, a bit of learning about golf.
