Lady Jaguars Sign Trio
ASU women's golf coach inks first signing class

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State women’s golf coach Kevin McPherson announced Monday the signing of three student-athletes to national letters-of-intent to join the Lady Jaguar golf program in the Fall of 2009.

Jordyn Hage of Winter Park, Fla., has helped led Lake Howell High School to Class AA State Championships in 2005, 2006 and 2008. She won the 2008 Halie Plantation Junior Girls Invitational and took fifth place in the AJGA’s 2008 Club Car Junior hosted by Charles Howell III at Champions Retreat Golf Club.

Natalie Wille of Balsta, Sweden has posted eight top-five finishes on the Scandinavian Junior Tour and is currently the No. 21-ranked amateur in Sweden. She won the 2008 Skandia Regional #1 and placed second in the 2008 Srixon Junior Open and took fifth in the 2008 Junior Masters.

Marit Kielland Bjerke of Lommedalen, Norway, is a student in the Norweigan College of Elite Sports and a member of the Norweigan National Golf Team. She captured the 2006 Baerum Open national tournament and 2008 Titleist Tour, Nes GK national tournament.

“I am very excited for Jordyn, Natalie and Marit to join our women’s golf program,” said McPherson of his first signing class. “All three ladies are very competitive. They’re all committed to school, golf and doing whatever it takes to reach their ultimate goal of making it to the LPGA Tour. This trio of players is very coachable and I feel I can help them make a big impact on our program. They are a big part of a very strong 2009 recruiting class and I’m sure they will represent ASU Golf and the University very well.”

The Lady Jags open their Spring, 2009 schedule on Feb. 15 with the Qdoba Collegiate in Miami, Fla.
