Junior Sarah Mooney paces ASU with four-over 76

MIAMI, Fla. -- Augusta State carded a 22-over 310 Sunday afternoon in the first round of the Qdoba Invitational at Don Shula Golf Club hosted by the University of Miami.

The Lady Jaguars, who played alongside Washington State and South Florida, were paced by junior Sarah Mooney’s four-over 76. Mooney is tied for 24th individually, one shot in front of senior Emilie Geury, who is tied for 30th after a five-over 77.

Freshman Julia Stalbro booked a 78, senior Mary Betancourt managed a 79 and junior Tamara Luccioli signed for an 80.

ASU is in 10th place in the 14-team field with 36 holes remaining. Georgia State owns a three-shot advantage over North Carolina State, with Louisville, Tulane and James Madison rounding out the top five.

Georgia State’s Anna Scott and Louisville’s Laura Anderson are tied for the individual lead at one-under 71.

The tournament’s second round is slated to tee off at 12:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
