Lady Jaguar senior Emilie Geury tied for 19th

MIAMI, Fla. -- Augusta State carded a 306 in windy conditions Monday afternoon and improved three slots during the second round of the Qdoba Invitational at Don Shula Golf Club.

The Lady Jaguars, who moved from 10th place into seventh, were paced by senior Emilie Geury’s round of three-over 75. She is tied for 19th at eight-over 152.

Senior Mary Betancourt and junior Tamara Luccioli booked a pair of four-over 76’s and are tied for 28th and 37th, respectively. Junior Sarah Mooney is tied for 28th following a 79 and freshman Julia Stalbro shot an 80 and is tied for 44th.

Georgia State combined for a 299 in the second round and owns a five-shot advantage over Louisville heading into Tuesday’s third and final round. North Carolina State, Washington State and Tulane round out the top five.

Ilska Verway of Georgia State along with the Louisville duo of Cindy LaCrosse and Laura Anderson are tied for the lead at two-over 146. Georgia State’s Cathrine Madsen and Anna Scott and North Carolina State’s Joanna Saleeby are tied for fourth, just a single strike off the lead.

The tournament’s third round is slated to tee off at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.
