Senior Sarah Mooney leads Lady Jags with tie for 10th

AUSTIN, Texas. -- Augusta State posted its lowest round of the season Monday – a 7-over 287 -- and is tied for fourth in the Challenge at Onion Creek.

None of the teams among the 21-team field were able to complete their second round at Onion Creek Club. The second round is slated to resume Tuesday morning, with the third and final round slated for a shotgun start once the second round is completed.

ASU senior Sarah Mooney and sophomore Julie Stalbro each carded an even-par 70 in the first round, while freshman Natalie Wille posted a 73 and freshman Jordyn Hage turned in a 74. Senior Tamara Luccioli signed for a 5-over 75. Luccioli turned in the highlight of the day, holing out from 175 yards with a 3-iron for an ace on the seventh hole of her first round.

Mooney is tied for 10th place and is 1-over through 15 holes of her second round. Hage is tied for 25th at +3 and Stalbro is tied for 34th at +4 through 16 holes. Willie is tied for 45th through 15 holes at +5 and Luccioli is tied for 71st at +9.

San Francisco is 12 shots ahead of Texas A&M, while Washington State is 20 shots off the pace. ASU along with Texas State and Texas are tied for fourth, three shots back of third.

San Francisco’s Tinna Johannsdottir shot a 64 and is two strokes clear of teammate Natasha Podmore. Texas A&M’s Julia Boland opened with a 67 and is three shots off the pace.
