Duschek-Hansen latest addition to ASU Women's Golf

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State women’s golf coach Kevin McPherson announced his third addition to the Spring, 2010 recruiting class Friday.

Christine Duschek-Hansen of Vejle, Denmark has signed a national letter-of-intent and agreed to join the Lady Jaguar program for the Fall, 2010 semester.

Duschek-Hansen was ranked No. 3 in the Danish national junior rankings in 2008 and No. 9 in the overall national women’s rankings. She captured four tournament titles and posted four other top-five finishes.

On June 14, Duschek-Hansen won the Team Rudersdal Open a three-round total of 3-over 219 (73-72-74) against a field that included both amateurs and professionals.

“Christine is a real competitor and you can never have enough of those types of players,” McPherson said. “She will bring a lot of experience and maturity to our squad. She has very high expectations for herself and for our program and we’re counting on her to make an immediate contribution.”

The Lady Jags, who recently completed their second season under McPherson, narrowly missed an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals in 2009-10. ASU recorded five top-5 finishes, including a runnerup finish in the Administaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate in March at Forest Hills Golf Club.
