AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Coastal Carolina carded the low round of the tournament Monday afternoon and cruised to 15-shot victory in the Administaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate presented by Mercedes-Benz of Augusta at Forest Hills Golf Club.

Sparked by medalist Aruka Felgueroso’s four-under 68, the Chanticleers combined for a three-over 291 and finished with a 54-hole total of 27-over 891 (301-299-291).

Tournament host Augusta State was the only other team to post a sub-300 round. The Lady Jaguars recorded an 11-over 299 and finished second, 20 shots clear of third-place UNC Wilmington. Western Carolina was fourth and Middle Tennessee finished fifth in the 14-team event.

ASU was playing host to the event for the first time since 2007 at the Donald Ross-designed Forest Hills Golf Club, the home course of the Lady Jags.

Felgueroso (74-77-68) and teammate Brittany Henderson (75-73-75) finished one-two for the Chanticleers, who registered five top-10 finishes. Taylor Slagle tied for sixth and Jessica Alexander and Alicia Grier each tied for 10th. Senior Tamara Luccioli tied for second and helped lead the Lady Jags to a runnerup finish. Freshman Natalie Wille had the team’s best round of the day -- a one-over 73 -- to join Luccioli, Jordyn Hage and Marit Bjerke in the top 20, while senior Sarah Mooney tied for 40th with a 76. Sophomore Julia Stalbro, competing as an individual, tied for 50th. (More)
