SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -- Augusta State freshman Emilie Geury captured the first collegiate title of her career in just her fourth event Tuesday and helped lead the Lady Jaguars to their second consecutive victory in the Ross Resorts Invitational at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club outside the Village of Pinehurst.

For the second straight week, the Lady Jags rallied from an eight-stroke deficit to overtake Georgia State. The two teams were actually tied at the end of regulation, and a scorecard playoff was used to determine the winner. Tournament officials used the score of the No. 5 player on each team, and ASU sophomore Kristen Bragg's final-round 81 bested Georgia State's Karin Dedering by four shots (85). Yale finished third, followed by Princeton in fourth and Richmond in fifth.

The Lady Jags had three golfers finish in the top 20. Geury, who finished runnerup at last week's Taco Bell Intercollegiate, fired rounds of 75-70-74 to finished at six-over for the tournament, a one-shot victory over Georgia State's Anna Scott.  Sophomore Garrett Phillips finished in fourth with a 10-over 223 (76-74-73). Junior Amanda Smith carded a three-round total 16-over 229 (75-79-75) to finish tied for 12th, while Senior Lauren Smith tied for 19th (78-79-77).  Sophomore Kristen Bragg finished tied for 34th (79-81-81).

ASU looks for its third straight title when the Lady Jaguars host the 2005 America's Choice Mortgage Lady Jaguar Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 7-8 at Forest Hills Golf Club.
