Lady Jaguars fall at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The No. 11-ranked Clayton State women's tennis team overcame a 2-1 deficit in doubles to pick up a 5-2 victory over in the first round of the 2008 NCAA DII Mid-Atlantic Regional, earning the Lakers a berth in the region championship against host Armstrong Atlantic State on Friday.

The Lakers (20-4) won at No. 1 doubles behind Julia Chergova and Anna Redecsi, knocking off Augusta State's Fernanda Chiaparini and Nathalia Rodrigues, 8-4. (MORE)

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State women’s tennis team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA postseason late Wednesday, according to an announcement from the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind.

The Lady Jaguars were one of six Peach Belt Conference women’s tennis teams to be selected among the 62 squads competing for the 2008 National Championship. (MORE)
