Lakers Advance Past ASU, 5-1

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The 11th-ranked Clayton State
Lady Lakers advanced to the 2009 NCAA Southeast Region
final with a 5-1 victory over No. 19 Augusta State on
Friday afternoon at the AASU Tennis Complex in Savannah.
Clayton State (11-6) will now face host Armstrong
Atlantic State at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday to determine
which team advances to the 2009 NCAA National
Championships in Altamonte Springs, Fla., on May 13-16.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State’s women’s tennis
team earned a bid to the NCAA postseason, according to
an announcement from the NCAA headquarters in
Indianapolis, Ind.
The No. 19 Jags (14-7), will open the tournament
against No. 11 Clayton State (10-6) on Friday, May 8 at
10:30 a.m. The Augusta State/Clayton State winner will
play in Saturday's Championship Match. During the
regular season, Augusta State defeated Clayton State,
7-2.
