| Pires, Ferreira and Machado take home wins for the Jags |

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. --
The Augusta State women’s tennis team turned in a strong showing at the 15th annual Georgia College and State Fall Championships, which wrapped up Saturday, Sept. 29.
In double’s play, Augusta State’s Laura Ferreira and Bianca Machado rallied their way to the finals where they took on Abraham Baldwin’s Jacobs and Scott for the title of ‘B’ Flight Doubles Champions, downing the pair 8-5.
Freshman Luiza Pires picked up a win for the Jags to take the ‘C’ Flight Consolation Championship. Pires beat Janna Oxendine from UNC Pembroke 6-0, 6-1 to advance to the final, where she shut down Ally Wooten from Tampa 6-0, 6-0.
In other singles action, freshman Camila Correa advanced to the semifinals of the ‘B’ Flight Consolation Championship, falling 2-6, 7-5, 10-8 to Calli Robinson of ABAC.
