This modern-looking painting (e.g. with a book whose pages have obviously been trimmed by machine) has a crossed staff different from the tau cross that is usual in St. Anthony portraits. In addition to the staff, the other Antonine attributes are the bell and the pig. The look on the pig's face is also unusual and perhaps a jeu d'esprit on the part of a latter-day artist.
