The museum label calls this painting "Madonna and
Child with SS. John the Baptist, Catherine, and Anthony
Abbot" but this is clearly a Mystic Marriage painting. Note
the ring that the Child is placing on Catherine's finger.
Anthony is identified by his Antonine habit and the cross at
the top of his staff, a variant of the tau-top staff; John,
by the animal skin, long cross, and lamb; Catherine, by the
wheel beneath her left hand.
