Though more delicate
in execution, this sculpture follows the model of the Coronation tympanum at Senlis: a
vertically divided lower register with the Dormition
on the left and on the right an Assumption
in which angels do the lifting of an emphatically material body; and in
the upper register a pair of angels flanking the two crowned figures.
