The Cubiculum of Jonah
Catacombs wall paintingsIn the first image Jonah exits from the great fish. In the other one, he rests under the gourd tree in the nearer panel. In the farther panel he is climbing a cliff. There are no cliffs in the story. Could the image refer to Jonah 4:5, "Then Jonas went out of the city, and sat toward the east side of the city"?
