The Women at the Tomb: 1

Late 12th century, from a Catalan cloister
Stone
Musée National de l'Age Médiévale, Paris

The three faces of the capital present two episodes leading up to the women's encounter with the angel in Mark 16:1-8.  On this face, we see them buying the oil and spices to be used to anoint the presumably dead body of Jesus.
