The
Conques Last Judgment Tympanum
Detail:
Symbols of the church and cult of St. Foy
The Romanesque columns and arches resemble to those in the church
inside. From the crosspieces hang opened shackles, ex-votos
given by prisoners freed by the intercession of St. Foy. Below the arch
on the left is an altar with a chalice, referring to the eucharistic
services conduncted in the church. Below the second arch is a chair or
throne.
