The Assumption

This is something of a "hybrid" type.  It is essentially a narrative image, leading the viewer's eye up from the empty tomb to Mary's upward gaze and then on toward Heaven.  But it is like late portrait images of the Assumption in excluding any figures other than Mary and the angels.
