Jesus' Trial Before Pontius Pilate

Pontius Pilate's role in the Crucifixion is recounted in Matthew 27:2-65 (cached) and Mark 15:1-44 (cached). He is also mentioned in Luke 3:1 (cached) and 13:1 (cached).

Also see the apocryphal Report of Pilate (cached), possibly 4th century, and the Acts of Pilate
(cached), most likely 5th century, later known as the Gospel of Nicodemus.

What became of Pontius Pilate after the Crucifixion is recounted in the Giving Up of Pontius Pilate (cached) and the Death of Pilate Who Condemned Jesus (cached). The latter is a later work than the Giving Up, which is possibly as early as the 5th century.
