Psalm 10

Ðysne teoþan sealm David sang þa he wæs adrifen on þæt westen fram Sawle þam cynge, þa his geferan hine lærdon þæt he hine þær hydde swa þes spearuwa. And swa ylce þa rihtwisan þe hine singað hi seofiað be heora feondum, ægðer ge gesewenlicum ge ungesewenlicum. And swa dyde Crist be Iudeum þa he þysne sealm sang.

VOX CHRISTI EST LEGE AD GENESIM PERDITIO SODOME

2(1)] In Domino confido. Quomodo dicitis anime mee: Transmigra in montem sicut passer? 2] Hwy lære me þæt ic fleo geond muntas and geond westenu swa spearwa, forþam ic getrywe Drihtne?
3(2)] Quoniam ecce peccatores tetenderunt arcum; paraverunt sagittas suas in pharetra ut sagittent in obscuro rectos corde. 3] Ic wat þeah forþam þe þa synfullan bendað heora bogan and fyllaþ heora coceras mid flanum, to þam þæt hi magon sceotan þa unscyldigan heortan dygollice þonan hi læst wenað.
4(3)] Quoniam que perfecisti destruxerunt. Iustus autem quid fecit? 4] Forþam hi wilniað þæs þe hi magon þæt hi toweorpen þæt God geteohhad hæfð to wyrcanne. Hwæt dyde ic unscyldega wið hi, oþþe hwæt mæg ic nu don?
5(4)] Dominus in templo sancto suo; Dominus in celo sedes eius. 5] Drihten ys on his halgan temple, se Drihten se þæs setl ys on heofenum.
(5)] Oculi eius in pauperem respiciunt; palpebre eius interrogant filios hominum. His eagan lociað on his earman þearfan; his bræwas, þæt ys his rihta dom, ahsað manna bearn.
6(6)] Dominus interrogat iustum et impium; qui autem diligit iniquitatem hodit animam suam. 6] Se ylca Drihten ahsað rihtwise and unrihtwise, þæt heora ægðer secge hwæt he dyde, þæt he him mæge gyldan be heora gewyrhtum, forðam se þe lufað unriht he hatað his agene sawle.
7(7)] Pluit super peccatores laqueos; ignis, sulphur, et spiritus procellarum pars calicis eorum. 7] Drihten onsent manegra cynna witu, swa swa ren, ofer ða synfullan, and hi gewyrpð mid grine; and he onsent fyr ofer hig, and ungemetlice hæto þære sunnan, and wolberende windas mid þyllicum, and mid manegum þyllicum beoð heora drincfatu gefyldu.
8(8)] Quoniam iustus Dominus, et iustitiam dilexit; equitatem vidit vultus eius. 8] Forþam God ys swyðe rihtwis, and he lufað rihtwisnesse, and heo byð symle swyðe emn beforan him.
