Psalm 47

David sang þysne seofon and feowertigoþan sealm, mycliende þone wundorlican sige Godes þe he þa and oftor ær dyde, hu hrædlice he oferswiðde swa ofermode kyningas. And eac he lærde ælcne man þe geswære and ofercumen and eft gefriðod [byð], þæt he swa ylce Gode þancode and his anweald herede. And þæt ylce he witgode by Criste, þæt he þæt ylce sceolde cweðan to his Fæder æfter ðære æriste.

2(1)] Magnus Dominus et laudabilis nimis in civitate Dei nostri, in monte sancto eius, 2] Mycel ys se Drihten ure God, and swyþe to herianne on þære byrig ures Drihtnes, and on his þam halgan munte.
3(2)] Dilatans exultationes universe terre; mons Syon, latera aquilonis, civitas regis magni. 3] He tobrædde blisse ofer ealle ure eorþan. Sio mycle burh þæs myclan kyninges is aset on þa norðhealfe þæs muntes Syon.
4(3)] Deus in gradibus eius dinoscitur, dum suscipiet eam. 4] Se God ys cuð on þære byrig, forþam he hire symle fultumað.
5(4)] Quoniam ecce reges terre congregati sunt et convenerunt in unum. 5] Eala hwæt! Ge sawon hu egeslice gegaderode wæron eorðkyningas, and hu hi togædere comon.
6(5)] Ipsi videntes tunc admirati sunt, conturbati sunt, et commoti sunt. 7] Tremor adprehendit eos. 6] And sona swa hi gesawon Godes wundru, hy wæron wundriende and wæran gedrefde and wæran styriende and onwende, 7] for þam ege and fyrhto þe hi gegripon,
(6)] Ibi dolores sicut parturientis. 8] In spiritu vehementi conterens naves Tharsis. Forþam him com swa hrædlic sar and wracu swa þam cennendan wife cymð færlic sar. 8] And hy wæron gebrytte swa hrædlice swa swa hradu yst windes scip tobrycð on þam sandum neah þære byrig þe Tarsit hatte, seo is on þam lande þe Cilicia hatte.
9(7)] Sicut audivimus, ita et vidimus in civitate Domini virtutum, in civitate Dei nostri. Deus fundavit eam in eternum. 9] Swa swa we geogeare hyrdon þæt God dyde be urum fæderum, swa we geseoð nu þæt he deð be us on þæs Godes byrig þe myclu wundru wyrcð, þæt ys on ures Godes byrig þe hi gestaþelode on ecnesse.
10(8)] Suscepimus, Deus, misericordiam tuam in [medio] templi tui. 10] We onfoð, Drihten, þinre mildheortnesse on middum þinum temple.
11(9)] Secundum nomen tuum, Deus, ita et laus tua in fines terre. Iustitia plena est dextera tua. 11] Swa swa þin nama is tobræd and gemyclad geond ealle eorðan, swa ys eac þin lof. Þin swiðre hand is full rihtwisnesse.
12(10)] Letetur mons Syon, et exultent filiae Iude, propter iudicia tua, Domine. 12] Blissie nu Syon se munt, and fægnie Iudea cyn, for þinum domum, Drihten.
13(11)] Circumdate Syon et conplectimini eam; narrate in turribus eius. 14] Ponite corda vestra in virtute eius, et distribuite gradus eius, ut enarretis in progenie altera. 13] Hweorfað ymb Sion and gað ofer þone weall Hierusalem, and ymbutan heriað God mid ælces cynnes heringe, and lufiað hine, and secgað his wundru on þam torrum and on þam wighusum þære byrig. 14] And fæstniað eower mod on his wundrum, and dælað hire weorðias swiðe rihte, and secgað swylc wundru eowrum gingrum, þæt hy hy mægen eft secgan of cynne on cynn,
15(12)] Quoniam hic est Deus noster in eternum, et in seculum seculi, et ipse reget nos in secula. 15] Forþam he is ure God on ecnesse, and on weorulda woruld, and he ræt us and recð on weorulda weorld.
