| Huitzo is in Oaxaca's Central Valley region,
about 19 miles (31 km.) from Oaxaca City. Its 2005
population was over 5,000. Our tour begins in the narthex
with a statue of St.
Peter of Verona, known locally as San Pedro Mártir.
